We have spent a lot of time planning and dreaming with our community leaders and Team Restore as we move from simply surviving to thriving financially. Last night was a beautiful evening, and I was SO ready for it. I sat on our deck while barbequing some fish and enjoying a little refreshment. Yes, I would have preferred the air to have been 20-30 degrees warmer. But there was no breeze, along with no bugs, and no rain. Sunny, but cool – and I was loving it.
The mission of STL is “connecting individuals to Jesus and to one another by growing faith, educating minds, and serving people.” However, we understand that people do not care what you know until they know how much you care. Thus Barnabas Mentors work with faith explorers in finding answers to their questions and becoming comfortably acquainted with the people and mission of STL.

MONEY. There, the word is out there … the topic that no-one likes to talk about … especially when it comes to talking about their own! It is easier to talk about the government’s money, or that of my rich neighbor (who is my neighbor, anyway?). But I do not want to talk about mine, and, even more so, I do not want you talking about mine.

The average high temperature in Eastpointe for April 22 is 60 degrees, with the average low around 42o. However, our highs the last two days have been at or below the average low – which of course means that the lows are south of 30o. And what did you think of that snow accumulating on those newly mowed lawns? Talk about cold!
This is my personal journey through the struggles of life battling depression and anxiety. It was when I spiraled and crashed, that my life actually began. In my pain, God gave me purpose. In my times of great loss, God gave me life. The journey was not easy, but it was worth every moment. I am sharing this with you, so you will know you are not alone. You have worth and value, exactly how you are and where you are in life, exactly AS IS.
Christ is risen, Christ is living, Dry your tears, be unafraid!
Death and darkness could not hold Him, Nor the tomb in which He lay.
Do not look among the dead for One who lives forevermore;
Tell the world that Christ is risen, Make it known He goes before.
