Yes, in spite of yesterday’s events, I have kept this as my message for today. The 12 days of Christmas are now behind us. In one week we should know what is next for us in Michigan regarding the pandemic. In two weeks we should have a new president. In six weeks we will be in the season of Lent. Twenty-six weeks from now I anticipate the vaccine will be available to all of us. Fifty-two weeks from now we will be in 2022!
26 families came through the Clothing Closet on December 12 and we are now keeping it available throughout the month. At least 80 families will be helped with holiday food baskets … thanks to your generous support and a couple groups of dedicated volunteers.

What better news is there than to know that God is always by our side! In God with Us, we learn again what God the Father has done—He has kept His promise. In so doing, He has announced that grace and forgiveness are available to all, freely given in the birth of Jesus: God’s Son, our Savior. He is Immanuel, “God with us.”

We ate at Andary’s last night – the first time Monica had been there since last winter. It felt like a whole new thing! Except, of course, the split pea soup was as splendid as ever. And the staff just as gracious and friendly as we have always known them to be.
