If my math is correct, today is Season Opener #123 for the Detroit Tigers. Our son, Joel, and I, though we are members of the “elite” 1901 Society, will not be there … because the Tigers’ Season Opener this year is in Tampa Bay. One might say that we planned our return from Florida a week or two early. However, one week from today is the Home Opener … and the plan is that I will be there with our other son, Matthew.
Almighty God, you sent Your Son, our Savior Jesus Christ, to take our flesh upon Him and to suffer death on the cross. Grant that we may share in His obedience to Your will and in the glorious victory of his resurrection; through your Son, Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever.

Quick recap on the calling efforts for a new Senior Pastor. A call was extended to Pastor Karl Strenge on February 15th. After much consideration, Pastor Strenge notified St. Thomas on March 4th that he was not accepting the call. As per the approval of the congregation, a call was made to the second candidate, Pastor Craig Donofrio, on March 9th. As of this writing Pastor Donofrio is prayerfully considering the call from St. Thomas. Please continue to keep Pastor Donofrio and St. Thomas in your prayers.
