Have you ever noticed that little things, often unnoticed on their own, can result in a much bigger thing as they are added together? Each night remove the spare change from your pocket and drop it in the change jar. Do this every day for a year; you might be surprised how much money has been accumulated.
Camp Restore Detroit Welcomes Volunteers Again
Camp Restore Detroit is back in business and we are excited to welcome volunteers back into our community! We have worked diligently to keep both our community and volunteers safe. At this point in time, our community has requested that we send back our volunteers. These will be true acts of love and kindness as usually our community works alongside our volunteers but we have asked that they also socially distance.
Good Grief
I am not sure how many of you are old enough to remember Charlie Brown (or is this similar to asking if you remember Ernie Harwell?) – but he was famous for saying, “Good grief!”. While I am not quite sure what Charlie Brown meant whenever he said, “Good grief,” it seems like it was more out of frustration than joy. However, today I am writing these words with joy.

Portals of Prayer is a daily devotional booklet STL gives to anyone who is interested. For each day of the month there is a reading from Holy Scripture, a thought about that word, a prayer, and the opportunity to dig deeper into the word. The booklet also contains a variety of special prayer resources in its back pages.
Council of Lutheran Women Mission Focus Postponed
Plans to host the inaugural Council of Lutheran Women Mission Focus, a mission expo designed to inform attendees about service opportunities at member ministry organizations and encourage involvement, have been postponed to 2021.
Your Blood is Desperately Needed!
St. Thomas is having a Blood Drive on September 30, from 1-7pm, in the gym. All workers will be practicing safe distancing and sanitizing as well as making sure all participants are safe. Please wear your mask and sanitize your hands prior to coming into the gym.
